The contract will encompass the construction of new substations, overhead lines, and design and engineering works, creating thousands of jobs.

The USD 6.82 billion worth of contracts includes transmission projects across central and southern Scotland. It aims to facilitate the transfer of more green energy across the country, contributing to a low-carbon future by connecting 80–85 GW of clean renewable energy to the GB transmission system and reducing the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels.
