The Réseau de Transport d'Électricité feeds the total output from the 62 turbines into the national electricity grid. The 8 MW turbines are the most powerful to be installed on an offshore wind farm in France. The Saint-Brieuc wind farm started its construction in April 2012. The development and construction of the wind farm have mobilized more than 1700 jobs in France, including more than 500 jobs in Brittany.

Entities Involved in the Project

The French businesses RES and Caisse des Dépôts, part of the Ailes Marines consortium, an Iberdrola subsidiary, worked together to construct the Saint-Brieuc wind farm. The wind turbines for the Saint-Brieuc wind farm were manufactured in France on the new industrial site of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, located in the port of Le Havre.

The Navantia Windar built and assembled some of the jacket foundation's components on the Brest polder. The company Haizea Breizh, also on the Brest polder, assembled the electrical equipment for the masts of the 62 wind turbines.
