Waaree Energies Secures a Massive Solar PV Module Supply Contract from ACCIONA Energía

Waaree Energies Limited, one of the top 15 solar PV manufacturers in India with a capacity of 12 GW, has secured a major contract by ACCIONA Energy’s subsidiary Juna Renewable Energy Private Limited to supply its bifacial solar modules for the 412.5 MWp/335 MW AC project in Rajasthan. Furthermore, the solar power project will be operational by March 2025.

The utility-scale solar plant will be located in Kawani village, Bikaner district, Rajasthan.  Additionally, it will be equipped with Waaree’s P-type bifacial modules, each boasting a capacity of 540–545 Wp. These high-performance modules will be mounted on horizontal single-axis trackers.

Background of the Project

Acciona Energia announced its plans to develop the new solar power plant in February. This new solar plant will be ACCIONA Energía’s largest solar plant in India, complementing its existing portfolio of four wind farms in India and underscoring its commitment to growth and geographic diversification.

According to ACCIONA, India is the fourth largest power market in the world in terms of installed capacity, with 42 percent of the cumulative installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources. Its target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 puts it among the most promising countries in the world for renewable energy growth.

This project will be included in ACCIONA Energy's Social Impact Management program, designed to support education, welfare, and environmental care programs in the communities in which it operates.
