Squadron Energy Inks $1.85 Billion Wind Turbine Deal with GE Vernova

Squadron Energy has signed a USD 1.85 billion wind turbine deal with GE Vernova, supporting its gigawatt-scale wind project pipeline. Additionally, Squadron Energy has also started the 414-MW Uungula wind project in New South Wales, Australia.

 

The cost of the turbines for the project is around USD 670 million. The next two projects in South Wales will benefit from the agreement with GE Vernova. The upcoming projects include the 700 MW Spicers Creek and 400 WM Jeremiah wind farms.

GE Vernova is one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world. To fulfill Squadron's commitment to delivering 14 GW of green electricity generation capacity, which will power roughly six million homes, Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest's company, Squadron Energy, formed a strategic alliance with GE Vernova.

Squadron Energy, a wholly owned portfolio company of Tattarang, reached a financial close on the Uungula wind project. Tattarang CEO Forrest stated that he is committed to financing Squadron’s 14 GW development pipeline to support the Australian Government in achieving its renewable energy targets.
 

The Uungula wind farm will be equipped with 69 units of 6-MW machines supplied by GE Vernova. Furthermore, GE Vernova will also provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services through its consortium partners, NACAP and CCP. The project also received approval for the interconnection into the transmission grid.
