SECI Invites RFS for 1 GW of Solar Projects Across India

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids to set up 1 GW solar PV projects in India which will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). SECI has preferred the build-operate project delivery method. The last date for submission of bid is 20th November this year. As per the official Press Release, SECI will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement with the developers selected through the tender. The selection process will be conducted based on tariff-based competitive bidding.

 

 

The bidders have to pay an Early Money Deposit (EMD) of USD 11,150/MW and a tender fee of USD 354. The capacity that a bidder can be allocated ranges from 50 MW to 500 MW with increments of 10. The solar power developer is tasked with the responsibility of identification of land, installation, and ownership of the project. The solar project developers are also required to build supporting infrastructure to transmit power from the project to the ISTS network. In addition, the developers are required to obtain all the necessary clearances and permits required for setting up the projects.
