SECI Invites Bids to Set up 1.2 GW Solar PV Projects in India

The Solar Energy Corporation of India issued a request for proposal (RFP) to establish 1.2 GW solar PV projects in India. The selection will be made under tariff-based competitive bidding. Furthermore, SECI will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful Bidders for 25 years. The various power distributors in India will buy the power that SECI purchases from these solar power projects.

Scope of Work

The Solar Power Developer (SPD) should set up ISTS-connected solar PV power projects in India, including the transmission network up to the interconnection or delivery point, with the primary objective of supplying solar power to SECI at its own cost. Additionally, the developers have to identify the land. The selected bidder will also own the solar power project. The bidders should have the necessary approvals for the interconnection with the ISTS/STU or InSTS network. 

Eligibility Criteria

The bidder, including its parent company, should have a minimum contracted capacity of 50 MW and a maximum contracted capacity of 600 MW. The total capacity allocated to a solar power developer will be up to 600 MW.

Project Location

The bidder's chosen locations will be the sites of these solar power projects in India. The developers can change the project location and delivery point until the deadline.
