Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently marked a significant milestone by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 112 national highway projects across India. These projects, collectively valued at approximately USD 12 billion (INR 1 lakh crore), aim to enhance connectivity and infrastructure throughout the country.
During the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi specifically highlighted the completion of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway. This expressway holds immense importance as it promises to revolutionize travel between Delhi and Haryana. Notably, it is expected to bring about a transformative shift not only in vehicular movement but also in the lives of the people residing in the region.
In his address, Narendra Modi emphasized the power of infrastructure development to turn challenges into opportunities. By investing in these projects, the nation takes a significant stride towards modern connectivity, fostering growth and progress.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Haryana section of the landmark Dwarka Expressway. The 19-kilometer-long Haryana section of the 8-lane Dwarka Expressway has been built for around USD 507 million (INR 4,100 crore). It includes two packages of 10.2 km long Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and 8.7 km long Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. It will also provide direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
The construction of the expressway is divided into four stages, spanning from Shiv Murti in Mahipalpur to Bijwasan (covering 5.9 kilometers), Bijwasan ROB to the Delhi-Haryana border in Gurgaon (spanning 4.2 kilometers), the Delhi-Haryana border to Basai ROB (extending over 10.2 kilometers) in Haryana, and Basai to the Kherki Daula cloverleaf interchange (covering 8.7 kilometers).

Prime Minister inaugurated the 9.6 km long six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)- Package 3 from Nangloi - Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka section in Delhi, which includes three packages of Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh
Additionally, the PM inaugurated the Anandapuram - Pendurthi - Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh; the Kiratpur-Nerchowk section of NH-21 (2 packages) in Himachal Pradesh; and the Dobaspet - Heskote section (two packages) in Karnataka, along with 42 other projects worth USD 2.4 billion (INR 20,500 crore) in different states across the country.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for various National Highway projects across the country. The projects include 14 packages of Bengaluru - Kadappa - Vijayawada Expressway Andhra Pradesh; six packages of Belgaum - Hungund - Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka; three packages of Shamli - Ambala Highway in Haryana; two packages of Amritsar - Bathinda corridor in Punjab; along with 39 other projects worth USD 4 billion (INR 32,700 crore) in different states across the country.
