Penta Infra has acquired a KPN data center facility located in Haarlem, Netherlands. KPN previously owned the data center facility, which they primarily used for hosting and data center services. With this acquisition, Penta Infra aims to expand its presence in the Dutch market and establish a foothold in the metropolitan region of Amsterdam.
As a portfolio company of Photon Capital, Penta Infra currently owns and operates 11 data centers in Germany, France, Denmark, and the Netherlands. The company has plans to further expand its portfolio, focusing on both edge and core data centers across Europe.
While KPN will continue to operate the network division as a tenant, Penta Infra intends to redevelop the remaining rooms into state-of-the-art IT spaces for colocation customers. Alex Bakker, CEO of Penta Infra, emphasized that this strategic move will strengthen their position as a leading player in the data center industry.
Penta Infra is a leading provider of edge data centers in Europe, offering businesses reliable, sustainable, and highly connected IT infrastructure. Penta Infra specializes in edge locations, placing data centers closer to population centers for an optimal user experience.
This is crucial for latency-sensitive applications like streaming, gaming, and cloud computing. Penta Infra is committed to green practices. The organization prioritizes energy efficiency and utilizes renewable energy sources.
