NTPC Green Energy, representing Indian Oil, has invited bids for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) package to develop up to 200 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects in India. The deadline for submitting bids is February 22.
INGEL is a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation and NTPC Green Energy formed to supply 650 MW of renewable power to meet the power requirements of Indian Oil for its upcoming projects.
The scope of work includes the operation and maintenance of complete solar projects, encompassing the switchyard and power evacuation system up to the interconnecting grid substation. This involves the provision of consumables and spare parts for three years from the commissioning date.
In addition, bidders must submit USD 601,448 as bid security for 100 MW and USD 1.2 million for 200 MW. EPC contractors must have experience in developing, designing, erecting, commissioning, or supervising activities for a grid-connected solar power project with a total capacity of 40 MW or higher.
IndianOil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited (IONNGEL) is a joint venture company formed in June 2023 between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited. The purpose of the joint venture is to develop renewable energy-based power projects, primarily solar and wind, to meet the round-the-clock power requirements of IOCL refineries.
The joint venture is still in its initial stages. However, the partnership is expected to contribute significantly to India's renewable energy capacity and help IOCL reduce its carbon footprint.
