NHPC Invites Bids to Establish 1.2 GW Solar Power Projects in India

NHPC published a request for proposal to set up 1200 MW of ISTS (Inter State Transmission System)-connected solar PV projects in India under tariff-based competitive bidding. The tender has additional capacity of up to 1200 MW with the “Greenshoe Option.” NHPC will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the selected bidders for a period of 25 years.

Scope of Work

The bidders shall set up the solar PV power projects anywhere in India, including a dedicated transmission network up to the Interconnection and Delivery Point, at their own cost.All approvals, permits and clearances required for the setting up of the project's infrastructure, including the  dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection, along with connectivity, shall be under the scope of the bidder. 

 


Capacity

The minimum project size will be 50 MW. The cumulative capacity offered should not exceed 600 MW without the “Greenshoe Option” and 1200 MW for a bidder with the “Greenshoe Option.  The minimum amount of contracted capacity that a bidder can offer, however, will be 30 MW for projects in the North-Eastern States and the Special Category.

 


Eligibility Criteria

The developers who have already commissioned solar PV plants or are in the process of constructing such plants can participate in the bid. 

 


Project Location

The developers must locate and arrange the land for the projects anywhere in India. The state utilities, discoms, and any other beneficiaries will purchase the solar power that the chosen SPGs produce from their respective solar PV power projects and sell it to them.
