CESC Plans to Acquire 50,000 Acres in Rajasthan and Gujarat to Develop Renewable Power Projects

Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) is planning to acquire over 50,000 acres to expand and increase its renewable energy footprint across the country. The company aims to achieve 3 GW in its renewable energy portfolio. The company plans to invest in solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects.

The group has submitted an expression of interest to the Gujarat government for about 49,000 acres to develop a solar-wind hybrid portfolio. The group has already applied to  Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation for registration and transmission connectivity. Furthermore, they are in the advanced stages of acquiring 2000 acres of land. The company has already acquired 250 acres of land in Bikaner.
