Singaporean firm, SC Capital Partners and its subsidiary will build two data centers in Osaka for an estimated USD 660 million. The first facility is slated to open in 2027. The expected power requirement for the data center is around 50 MW. SC Capital will lease data centers to corporate clients and eventually sell them. SC Capital has bagged commitments for a data center investment program from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority with the ability to scale up to USD 2 billion.
Additionally, SC Zeus DC a subsidiary firm of SC Capital Partners has acquired land in Osaka Japan to build data center facilities. The first phase will offer a 25 MW IT load capacity. Joe Gooi CEO of SC Zeus stated that the company is committed to providing robust data center solutions in the APAC region.
There is a rise in demand for data processing due to which many companies are seeking backup locations for their data in Osaka as an alternative to Tokyo. SC Capital is considering to develop additional data centers in the Tokyo and Osaka regions. Apart from this Equinix is also planning to build more and expand their data center facilities in Tokyo and Osaka.
