Digital Edge has bagged a USD 330 million green loan to support the first phase of development of the 100 MW data center project in Seoul. The project also known as SEL2 will be the largest data center facility in South Korea. The financing also represents the first green loan for a data center project in South Korea.
SEL2 will utilize Digital Edge’s next-generation architecture to achieve high standards of energy efficiency. The company will leverage the state-of-the-art Bloom Energy fuel cell technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The energy efficiency objectives of SEL2 are aligned with Digital Edge’s carbon-neutral data center platform by 2030.
Digital Edge’s Chief Financial Officer, Jonathan Walbridge stated that the first green loan is a key milestone in our growth journey. He also added that SEL2 is Digital Edge’s third data center facility in South Korea which will bring world-class digital infrastructure to the thriving market.

SEL2 South Korea is a hyperscale data center project being developed by STT GDC in Incheon, South Korea.
