ACCIONA Energía has completed the sale of 440MW of wind assets in Spain to independent energy producer Opdenergy for EUR 530 million. The transaction closed on December 3, 2025, after receiving the necessary antitrust and foreign investment clearances.

Asset Portfolio Details

The 440MW transaction comprises 13 wind farms located across six Spanish provinces: Albacete, Cádiz, Cuenca, Lérida, Valencia, and Zamora. These wind facilities have an average age of 15 years.

The agreement extends beyond the wind assets to include a portfolio of photovoltaic projects currently under development. These solar projects total upto 351 MWp and are linked to the hybridization potential of the wind farms included in the deal.

Buyer Information

Opdenergy, the acquiring company, is an independent energy producer backed by private equity firm Antin Infrastructure Partners. The company has secured these Spanish renewable energy assets as part of its expansion strategy.

Strategic Asset Rotation

This transaction forms part of ACCIONA Energía's broader asset rotation strategy. Since July 2024, the company has reached agreements to sell almost 1.7 GW of renewable capacity across multiple international markets including Spain, South Africa, Peru and Costa Rica.

The total value of these asset sales since July 2024 amounts to around EUR 2.4 billion. ACCIONA Energía states that these transactions highlight the attractiveness of its assets in the market and strengthen the company's financial profile.
