ABO Energy has achieved significant progress across multiple wind energy projects in Germany, including securing tariffs for 16.4 megawatts in the latest federal tender and obtaining permits for several wind farms. The company announced these developments, highlighting advances in both new project approvals and ongoing construction efforts.

Tariff Awards in February Tender

ABO Energy received tariffs for two projects totaling 16.4 megawatts in the February tariff tender for onshore wind energy projects. The Federal Network Agency published these results, awarding tariffs for one wind turbine in Schwerte, North Rhine-Westphalia, with 6.8 megawatt capacity, and two wind turbines in Ähringen, Baden-Württemberg, with 9.6 megawatt capacity.

These projects represent extensions of wind farms already under construction. The three turbines are scheduled to be connected to the grid by autumn 2027. ABO Energy participated only on a small scale in the February auction.

The Federal Network Agency awarded tariffs to 439 bids with a total capacity of 3.4 gigawatts in the February tender. The average awarded tariff was 5.54 cents per kilowatt-hour, which fell below the previous auction's average of 6.06 cents.

Enhanced Participation Capabilities

A resolution passed by bondholders on March 9 paved the way for ABO Energy's future participation in tender rounds. This resolution allows ABO Energy to provide collateral in order to obtain guarantees, strengthening the company's ability to take part in future tariff auctions. The company indicated that prospects for securing tariffs for more projects in upcoming tender rounds are promising.

Project Permits and Development Progress

ABO Energy recently secured permits for multiple wind farm projects across Germany. The company obtained approval for the Olpe-Rehringhausen wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia, featuring 3 Enercon E-175 turbines with 21 megawatts total capacity. Additionally, permits were secured for the Tholey wind farm in Saarland, consisting of 2 Nordex N163 turbines with 14 megawatt capacity.

In St. Gangloff, Thuringia, ABO Energy obtained approval to switch to a next-generation Nordex turbine type for a project featuring 5 Nordex N163 turbines with 35 megawatts total capacity. This approval allows the company to utilize more advanced turbine technology for the development.

Project Sale and Financing Activities

In Unterschneidheim, Baden-Württemberg, ABO Energy sold the project rights for the Nonnenholz II wind farm to a regional market participant. This project consists of 1 Vestas V162 turbine with 6 megawatt capacity. Since ABO Energy had already secured both the permit and tariff for the turbine, the project can now be implemented at short notice by the new owner.

For the Ortenberg wind farm, currently under construction in Hesse, ABO Energy recently activated a financing agreement. This wind farm features 3 Enercon E-175 turbines with 21 megawatts total capacity. The ground-breaking ceremony for the Ähringen wind farm took place in November 2025.

Company Portfolio and Management Commentary

Kristof Frank, General Manager responsible for wind energy development in Germany, expressed satisfaction with these achievements, attributing them to the tremendous dedication of company employees. Frank noted that ABO Energy currently has 650 megawatts of permitted wind projects in Germany, which provides a strong foundation for additional revenues in the coming months and years.

The company's recent activities span multiple German states, including North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Saarland, Thuringia, and Hesse. These projects involve turbines from major manufacturers, including Enercon, Nordex, and Vestas, demonstrating ABO Energy's diverse technology partnerships across its German portfolio.
